I now live in Wiltshire in the South West of England. My wife is a Wiltshire girl, originally from the village of Worton not far from Devizes on the edge of Salisbury Plain. We have finally set up home in the village of Patney, some 6 miles south of Devizes. It's very rural, no pub, no shops, but it's really nice to look out of the window and overlook fields instead of more houses. We've also been noting the local wildlife in the area. Deer, buzzards, hawks, helicopters (lots and lots of helicopters). I suppose that's one of the advantages of living next to a large army training area.

I've managed to get out and get some local photos, and hopefully in the fullness of time I will get a lot more. I have a lot of exploring to do in the countryside here as I am a bit of an "incomer" to the area. There is so much to see from a historical ,scenic and military point of view that I probably won't even scratch the surface. Some of the nearby sites of importance are Avebury, Silbury Hill, Stonehenge, and lots of White Horses.
